In Sierra Leone, West Africa, war raged from 1989 to 2002. Civilians were often numbered among the casualties, and many people lost their family members during the war. The unrest disrupted the people’s daily lives so that many could not get enough food to eat—not even one meal a day. The people of Sierra Leone felt abandoned during this terrible time. In order to help, LDS Charities provided food, hygiene kits, clothing, and blankets. The hope of the people of Sierra Leone was restored.
