In December, one of LDS Charities’ partners, CARE, helped sponsor some charity vending machines on Temple Square. Hundreds of people lined up in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building to use the vending machines to donate funds to charitable organizations. Michelle Nunn, the CEO of CARE, spoke with LDS Charities about the sustainability of many of the charitable items purchased through the vending machines, including emergency kits, chickens, and goats. Goats are a particularly valuable resource in many parts of the world because they can provide sustainable food in the form of milk and cheese. LDS Charities is proud to work with CARE and all of its other partners in helping spread joy and sustainable help throughout the year.
